I thought I knew everything that was released in the 80's. I guess not. Looking forward to hearing this and the Blueboy CD. I kind of fell out of the music scene in the 90's and that is one of the many from the decade I've never heard of. It seems El Records were one of those labels where everything they released sounded the same. But what a fantastic sound it was! Your site is an education and it's very much appreciated.
This is not the kind of music that i've been posting lately, I used the tag no wave because i felt that it was pretty accurate to describe the sound, but i guess that you can find roots on something deeper, the guitar in this band is played by the mythical Fred Frith (from Henry Cow, Art Bears and an innumerable ammount of bands and projects). By the way, i have a lot of RIO and RIO oriented stuff that i'm planning to upload, so i hope you people like it. Also, about the Blueboy (with Harvey Williams on guitar!) album, am i the only one that thinks that they have a similar vibe to Pale Saints?
I am really into RIO/Frith-related music and would welcome anything of that nature that you have to share. Killing Time's a definite favorite as well. Wonderful blog, many thanks.
awesome thank you good sir. loving your latest posts as always, that Mass record is really cool.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much!
